The spicy pickled brussel sprouts turned out AMAZING. I have since been collecting jars and pickling ideas in my head for the next round. In my dream house I have an overflowing vegetable garden, a  drum of vinegar, and lots of pantry space!

It all started a couple of weeks ago. I was riding in the passenger seat, driving north on Hwy 1 somewhere between Santa Cruz and SF. We passed a sign:

It wasn’t the artichokes that grabbed our attention, it was the Brussel Sprouts. We pulled a quick U and headed back to grab some fresh brussels, still on the stalk!
